A little bit into my textile practice…
It started as a way to cope with the isolation of grief and caregiving, now creating quilted illustrations has become a source of connection to my culture, community and fellow artists. My process moves organically from sketch to layers of fabric. I combine dyeing, appliqué, painting, manipulation, piecing, and embroidery with hand and machine sewing. Grounded in themes of visibility, becoming, and identity, my work is deeply inspired by memories, nature, relationships, and navigating big emotions. I enjoy mixing symbolism with a touch of whimsy. I strive to create accessible storytelling that connects to the viewer through shared narratives.
